Dixie Bear Den • Spa • Fenced Yard

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first. The check-in was EASY and we were able to check in early as well. Molly’s place is clean, accessible, and safe. It’s close to the marina and the village so it was fast to get to any activity. There’s no other place I would stay next time we are in Big Bear!

All great, a lot of rules. Bathroom seemed a lil bit dirty, we found hair when we got there. Everything else was amazing. Also the wood package is completely worthless, overpriced and they don’t really give you all you need to have a good fire

We had a great stay and really appreciated the responsiveness of the house host.

The hosts were extremely nice and quick to respond when I had a problem getting in and with the WiFi. Unfortunately the cabin itself needs to be updated and deep cleaned. Right when I walked in I noticed the broken blinds in one of the bedrooms and it was very badly broken. I had plans on cooking but unfortunately all the kitchen utensils and pots and pans were in horrible shape. I only used one pot and a few dishes but I didn’t even make what I wanted to. I booked a different air bnb and left in the morning, I didn’t even sleep in the room. As I was leaving, I double checked to make sure I didn’t leave anything behind and I opened one of the drawers in the room downstairs and there were a pair of dirty gym shorts and undies.

An amazing place! Very quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking. Upon entering, it felt just like at home. The host was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here at this cabin and will definitely come back. 10/10

Had a great stay! Easy drive to the slopes. Fenced yard was small but my dogs were absolutely obsessed with it and always had a great time sniff-sniffing all the woodsy scents. We used their service to have some wood waiting for the fireplace before we arrived, which was fantastic. Super cozy and relaxing.

The house is cute. I didn’t end up sleeping in the upstairs loft since it was so cold up there. Would recommend headlamps, flashlights for night dog walks or night runs. It’s a very dark neighborhood.

This was a great location, a tiny cabin tucked away. I thought it was the perfect size for 2 people plus my dog. The photos matched accurately and I loved the completely fenced area for my pup.

This was our second stay at this cabin. It was easy communicating with the team and everything ran smoothly. We enjoyed the hot tub, grill and the fireplace.

Molly and Seth’s cabin was just what we were looking for in our first trip to Big Bear. It was the perfect amount of space for two people and a dog. It was clean, cozy and immediately felt like home. Our dog loved having a backyard and the proximity to the lake. The Village is about a five minute drive away so you’re not far from restaurants and shops, and we made the quick drive to Sister My Sister for our morning coffee a couple times. I highly recommend their cabin. We’ll definitely keep it mind for future trips!

We had a great stay here! Such a cute cabin in a great area. We loved the hot tub, the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and parking was perfect. This is the perfect quiet cabin to relax for the weekend.

This was my family's first time in Big Bear. This cabin is so adorable, cozy, and centrally located to so many activities, restaurants, and attractions. The hosts. Molly and Seth are amazing! So easy to communicate with and they really care that you are having a great experience while staying at their home. The house is well appointed with so amenities to make your stay comfortable. The jacuzzi was a huge hit with my 9 year old. My only advice is make sure the side gate to the yard is fully closed. We didn't even recognize that there was a gate there and one of our pups got out of the yard. Otherwise, this was a perfect getaway for our family of 3 and we are already talking about making this trip an annual stay.

I loved this place, easy driving distance to restaurants and stores. I have small long-haired dogs so it wasn’t great for walking them, but it would have been easy walking distance to the lake without them. There are two separate rooms for sleeping. I had multiple visitors at different times and they always had their own private sleeping quarters. I stayed alone and felt safe at this location, besides neighbors are close by as well. All in all this was a great choice for a single person. I would definitely try staying here again for a short stay.

The house was a great place to stay in between hikes with our small dogs. My only caution is it can be a bit stuffy in the summer time.

The cabin was as described. The backyard was smaller than I thought as the pictures make it look larger. Inside looks exactly as posted. The beds are comfy, kitchen equipped with the necessities to successfully make a full meal. Nice touches with dog treats. The cabin is located in a quiet/private street which was nice. Be aware there is a steep but small hill to get up to the cabin. Overall we had a great stay. Very close to the village, not walkable but a short drive.

We had such a nice stay at this cabin. It was very peaceful and was in a nice location. Pretty area/neighborhood to walk around in. We didn't want to leave!

Had A Good stay. Not recommended for older people because of lot of stairs.Also next year a bigger house (3 older adults and 2 dogs) But in all we had a good time.Thanks

The cabin was incredibly peaceful and lovely! The spa was a great highlight and did not disappoint! Do know that in the summer it does get very hot inside. Luckily we weren’t inside during the day too often and at night the weather is perfect. Our pups loved the doggy door and there were treats at the airbnb which was a thoughtful touch!

Overall a great place to stay! Perfect for what we needed. The grill could stand to be replaced, but was still usable after lighting with the lighter. The hot tub was nice!

Had a lovely stay! The house is small, but they filled it well and not cluttered! 2 beds were great for 2 ppl! Pets allowed with a fenced backyard that my dog appreciated! And the hot tub was amazing! Already warm and ready to go! I would def stay again!

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay. We were especially looking forward to the hot tub and it did not disappoint. Great location, clean, comfy bed and it had everything we needed. When we had to get in touch with the hosts, they responded quickly and were very helpful. We decided not to bring our dog this time, but there is a doggy door and fenced yard. Would definitely book again.

Great little Cabin tucked away on a secluded road. I stayed for about a week and had no issues. I would suggest bringing some of your own kitchen items as there is limited items, such as cutting board, sharp chef knife, etc. Also there is no dishwasher. Everything else was perfect, just as described. It is also close to the Village and Marinas. Great wifi and Roku TV so you can sign into any of the streaming appa. Also I would like to point out that they are very responsive to request and I believe truly want you to have a great stay. I would definitely go back to this Cabin.

The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive. This was one of the more comfortable AirBNBs we have stayed at: well stocked kitchen, comfortable leather couch, fenced in yard for the dogs with a well maintained hot tub as well as a grill and fire pit, fast wifi, and plenty of extra blankets if you get cold at night. Would highly recommend!!!!

This was a perfect little cabin weekend getaway! Nestled in a friendly neighborhood, Molly Mei's place had everything we needed - hot tub, fenced in yard for our pups, comfy beds, and an AMAZING wood burning stove/fireplace to help keep us cozy during the snowy nights. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, and the kitchen came with coffee and tea fixins, as well as treats for our pup! Molly Mei was super responsive and helpful with our stay. This is a great option for anyone who wants to visit the city of Big Bear.

Cute little cottage with tiny back yard. Cottage holds 3, one bedroom is a loft so morning noise is an issue for that person. Only one bathroom downstairs also, but it is updated and nice. Kitchen is tiny...no ice and very old basic cookware and kitchen supplies. There is a very old grill on the deck, but only gets up to 300 degrees maybe....2 of 3 burners work. There is one tv in living room, none in the 2 bedrooms, FYI if you are bringing kid(s). The fireplace was awesome and the cottage kept warm and cozy, very clean and relaxing...ideal place for a couple. Pet friendly which was great!

Everything was exactly as described! Place was in a very quiet neighborhood that was very relaxing. The place had all everything we needed and was close to everything in town.

Molly Mei's cabin was the perfect place for us to spend a weekend in Big Bear. Everything was just as pictured, super cute decor, easy to find, close to town and the slopes, and really cozy. We especially liked soaking in the large hot tub after a day on the slopes. I highly recommend booking here, and we would happily stay here again on our next trip up.

Place was just as described. Super easy check in and place was ready before the 4pm check in. I had seen other reviews about the place not being thoroughly cleaned before arriving and we also discovered that on a small scale as we found accumulated dust on some furniture but nothing too gross or nasty. But that is more on the cleaning crew then the host. Location is close enough to all the action but also just far enough if you want peace and quiet. Would stay here again.

We loved the fenced yard for our dog. The hot tub was really nice after a long day, very clean. This cozy spot was a short distance to everything and had all we needed.

It was perfect

Molly’s home was exactly what we needed, a place where we could rest in the mountains. The place was fairly easy to find, I suggest trying to find the place during the daytime as finding homes in these areas at night can be challenging. Check in was easy after we finally got the code. There are two places to sleep, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The kitchen was basic but supplied everything you would need for a weekend stay. There is grill that we never used on the patio as well as a jacuzzi that was clean and worked really well. WiFi and Roku TV available as well. The location is a 5 minute drive to the downtown village area. Overall, a pleasant stay.

As seniors, It was difficult stay compared to all our AirBnB stays around world. started off w/no clear amenity list, instead received long list of rules & fines. we arrived 30 min. before 4pm check-in in harsh sleet & snow conditions w/ wheelchair & dog. when we called to get door code, told we had to wait until 4. asked if we could get in a few min early, told inspector hadn’t shown up yet. spent 2 hours trying to find upstairs light switch in total darkness. 3 switches up the stairs did nothing. when eventually found hidden switch, lights flickered. bedspreads smelled. no additional bedding or blankets. waited 3 hours for replacements. tattered thin polyester sheets w/major static. no mattress covers bed stains. blinds/shades missing in bedroom & living room. toilet whistled when flushed. no bath mat. only 1 wash cloth & hand towel. No ice trays/ice maker. no dishwasher. told to hand wash but dishes & silverware were dirty. needs updating, less rules, more user friendly & trustful.

I want to say that the hosts were very responsive and super nice. Location was easy to find and in close proximity to a market and the lake. The heater worked really well and the upstairs mattress was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the cabin wasn’t all that clean. We found dirty tissues on the floor of the downstairs bedroom in between the bed and the wall when we moved the pillows (which made us paranoid that the sheets hadn’t been washed as it should have been obvious when moving the bedding). Additionally, some of the kitchen utensils still had crusty food on them. In all honesty, the place could use a good deep cleaning and refresh and for what we paid, I feel it was a bit steep. I don’t want to fault the hosts as the cleaning crew should be doing what our cleaning fee entails.

Great stay!

Overall the place was satisfactory. We paid about $500 for 3 nights which seemed like a fair deal, but I wouldn’t pay more. It was on the small side. It worked for the 3 of us, a baby and 2 35lb dogs, but I would recommend only renting for a couple. The spa was my favorite feature. Nice and hot from the beginning! They also allow pets at no additional charge which was awesome. The place is also fully fenced in. Great for dogs. The heater (set to 68) was my least favorite feature. It’s loud and turns on every 15 minutes throughout the night making it difficult to sleep. Also, the vent in the downstairs room is broken so it lets too much heat in. The upstairs loft has the opposite problem. It doesn’t have a vent and it gets really cold. The blankets for the beds are also very thin. I had to request additional blankets as they did not have extras in the closet. To Molly’s credit, she came the next day and delivered more towels and blankets which was much appreciated.

Had a great stay with my husband and pup for a little r&r from LA. It was a quiet neighborhood, the hot tub was lovely and enjoyed some wine by the fireplace each night. The host was responsive and clear on their instructions and everything matched the photos. I would for sure stay here again.

Great place! Really close to the village (downtown area) and there’s a liquor store down the road. Cute for a couples getaway.

Simple, it has all you need to have an awesome time.

My husband and I stayed and were happy to have a place with a hot tub and fireplace. Both worked well. Other amenities were not as well kept as described and in photos, like kitchen utensils. We brought food with us to cook and to find there was only one steak knife, we had to pass it back and forth in our meal. Then we had brought wine to have and turns out there was only one wine glass. We had to go to the dollar store to buy a wine glass so we both could drink our wine. We also left the glasses so someone else doesn’t have that experience. Additionally the blankets and pillows were so thin for a cold area. When I asked the host about any other blankets they had me check the closets which were empty. Then they did have an employee drop off some blankets for us. The front screen door was broken and banged all through out the night in a high wind warning. The door is right next to the bedroom and woke us quite a bit. The place clearly needs some maintenance.

The cutest little cabin! Perfect for my husband and my get away. It was SUPER close to everything (5 mins from the village) and the neighbors were scarce so it felt very intimate. The hot tub was great and super easy to navigate. My doggy did well here too she loved it! The amenities were exactly what was listed. I will say that maybe a few extra towels might make the experience better for guests. For a shower plus hot tub (and no washer and dryer) I might add a few more towels because we couldn’t wash them. That didn’t hinder the experience but it would’ve made it a little easier!

Great place.

This cabin was the perfect jumping off point for me and my dog, Koda, to explore the area and enjoy some hiking as well as the lake. It was clean and cozy and instructions were well-communicated and straightforward. For my low-key purposes, it was an ideal spot to enjoy nature and escape city life for a few days.

This was the perfect little place for our getaway from the city. The place was spotless when we checked in and the living room/kitchen area was very comfortable. The TV was terrific and it was so easy for us to get a movie started and enjoy our evenings. It's a short drive to the village and grocery stores.

Really nice and cute house! Enough space for 2 to work from. We brought a foldable table and pulled up a chair to it for extra space. Spacious and well equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed for our trip.

The Dixie Bear Den was lovely! Perfect getaway for me and the dog. Peaceful location and you can walk anywhere. The inside was so comfy, it was hard to want to leave the house to explore. We checked out the lake, the trails, and the village during the day. Relaxing in the spa at night was incredible. Next time I’m up at big bear, I would love to stay here again!

This was a great and relaxing place to stay. it was very quiet and it seemed as if we were the only ones in the neighborhood. We loved the location, not too far from town, yet away from it. The cabin had everything we needed and it was easy to just stay there and hang out instead of struggling to find a place to eat. I would highly recommend it.

The place was just ok. Blinds were missing on one of the windows in the master bedroom. Had to hang some towels to keep the sun from blaring in. Water was great for shower but ran out when we tried to take a bath. Front door lock was finicky and we had trouble locking it. Asked for help but the solution they gave didn’t work.

Loved our stay at Molly Mei cabin. We got to check in early which was a great bonus. The cabin is close to the lake 10 min walk and village which is a 30 min walk. I love places that accommodate fur babies and for this reason I would recommend this cabin to anyone. It was peaceful comfortable and had all the thing we needed for a fun getaway. ❤️

We enjoyed our stay at the Dixie Bear Den! The cabin was very cute and cozy. The check in process was quick and easy. The cabin was just a short drive away from the village. This is a great pet friendly option in Big Bear.

This place needs quite a bit of TLC/maintenance and some detailed cleaning. Pictures felt a bit deceiving. Lamp in living room broken/not usable, blind in bedroom broken and shoved in closet. Dirty walls, doors, trim, etc. Shower/tub needs to be repaired/maintained, bathroom sink does not drain properly. USB nightstand not functional. Ceiling fan upstairs noisy so could not use. Blankets and remotes dirty. Outside of property and exterior of home needs updating/repairs/maintenance. For a $135 cleaning fee, house should have been nearly spotless, and should have included trash removal. (They stated *renters* are required by city law to bring trash to dump site but that’s not factual.) Overall, this place really needs some attention. Communication through AirBnB app was pleasant. Check-in (young male) could use some customer service training.

Great weekend getaway

Nice place. There was construction on the street during our stay which made it hard to get in and out, but overall good location, comfy beds, and helpful amenities.

Was priced nicely, the place was unfortunately not super clean as I would expect. Most to all of the Dishes needed to be washed, the floors were dirty. There was one rug to the house. This was unfortunate because when it snowed it was hard not to track dirt and mud into the house. We tried our best to not track anything into the home and swept / vacuumed what we could, but the vacuum had little to no suction. All of the towels we used had long black hairs attached. The hot tub was fun, but was so filled with chemicals that our eyes literally burned just sitting in there.We understand this is a dog friendly location and really the floors not being clean wasn’t really a huge deal it was just everything else piling on top that was a little frustrating. The back yard wasn’t as pictured, with cushioned sitable chairs. The cushions were ripped to shreds and all over the yard, most of the plastic chairs were cracked. We ended up leaving our reservation early. However, its close to town.

Thank you for the stay! We enjoyed our stay at the cute Bear cabin! Overall we would rate the stay at 4.5 the check was fast and easy with clear instructions to access code. A Kerig coffee machine would be nice and extra washcloths. The place was well maintained, but the shower curtain bar kept falling down. Parking convenient with easy access!

Great, pet friendly option. Affordable, quaint place and close to everything we visited (alpine slide, aspen park for sledding). Great communication from the host and were flexible with our needs which we greatly appreciated. Someone in the house behind us had a dog that wasn’t too fond of our dog. I’m not sure if it was another visiting guest or a permanent resident but that was the only thing that wasn’t perfect and it was manageable we just had to wait to let ours outside on our last morning there. Overall, happy with our stay!

The Dixie Den was super comfortable and we felt right at home. The neighborhood was quiet and the hottub made our relaxing getaway even more of a treat. We will definitely stay at the Dixie Den again when we travel to Big Bear!

We wanted to stay longer in order to not Move and drive in the blizzard conditions but they told us they had other people staying. Ok, all roads were closed. We e fed up booking a way better place, closer to the ski resort with phenomenal service. We booked on VRBO at a way cheaper price, better location and they plowed, shoveled and continues this service twice a day throughout our stay. We were actually caught off guard thinking this service was definitely not going to happen during blizzard conditions but they did it with ease! Definitely made a huge impact as far as customer service. Maybe Molly Meis should take note.

This cabin was very peaceful and relaxing. The whole check in process was very easy and didn’t take long at all! The amenities were all there and the dog treats were a nice touch for our fur baby! Overall it was a great experience! Only thing I would be a little picky about is the living room. While I knew the cabin was small , I guess for paying as much as I did I would have expected a little nicer or even more room to relax in the living room. Keep in mind, I’m from the IE and never have been to big bear so maybe that’s standard in rentals up there for this price. Again, just me being very picky! Overall, this was the best experience I could have asked for and my girlfriend and I truly enjoyed our anniversary trip! My boyfriend and I found ourselves and our pup in a bind due to our original accommodations not working out. I checked Airbnb for pet friendly available stays that night and this lovely home popped up! I am so grateful we were able to stay here. It really made our 3 day getaway from the city sooo enjoyable. We actually didn’t want to leave the house to ski and go to town we enjoyed relaxing so much. We had everything we needed to make dinners instead of going out and loved being able to utilize the hot tub! The bed was super comfy on the main floor and the loft was my favorite afternoon nap spot. The decor is adorable, and we had everything we needed to fully enjoy ourselves with our pup in the mountains. Thank you!

Loved it! Cute backyard for going in the hot tub and also having dogs in the backyard at the same time. The hot tub was really nice and big and very hot (even though it was very cold outside). Place was very cozy. Great for streaming movies and cooking meals.

The cabin was so cute! And easy to check in and out of! Deck was a little icey, and the shovel was in the maintenance shed in the yard, but with good outdoor boots, easy to grab and clear off any slippery patches! Will definitely stay here again when i adventure to Big Bear Lake

I have been visiting Big Bear multiple times a year for about 5 years now and Molly Mei’s cabin was definitely one of the best cabins I have ever stayed it. The check in process was super simple and they we’re so welcoming and friendly from the beginning when I booked the place! The neighborhood is nice and quiet, a very short walk to the lake or even to The Village. Inside the cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. So nice and rare to find a clean cabin that is dog friendly. The fenced yard with the hot tub was a huge plus. Will definitely be booking again very soon!

Had a great stay this thanksgiving with my husband and dogs. The house was charming and cozy. The spa was amazing to have access to and worked great! The house is in a quiet neighborhood not far from town. In fact, we were able to walk our dogs all the way to the village in about 30 mins. Would stay here again!

Overall extremely satisfied with our stay. Cozy and tidy place to enjoy the cold weather. Small but with enough room for three of us and our Labrador. Quiet neighborhood, walking distance to the Lake. 3 mins drive to the mineshaft coaster and snowplay. My only suggestion will be try to arrive early. We arrived at dusk and it was our first time there to the big bear lake so it’s a little tricky to find the cabin on the first day. But once you get to know the area a little bit, it won’t be a problem anymore.

My boyfriend, dog, and I had an amazing time at this cabin! The yard was completely fenced in and high enough that I felt comfortable letting my dog hang out in the backyard while we were in the hot tub! I would definitely recommend!!!

My boyfriend and I had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary. The pictures don’t even do it justice, the kitchen is super clean and up to date. It’s filled with all the essentials and more you’d need for all kinds of cooking! We used the grill often and it was easy to light and use. The jacuzzi was already warmed up to a toasty 101 on our arrival! My dog loved the fenced in backyard and the toasty fireplace. Really can’t recommend this place enough, great stay!

Awesome place to stay!

We had a great weekend at this cabin. The location was nice, and accessible to town and hiking, the cabin was cozy, and the hot tub was great on the cold nights.

A lovely cabin, perfect for a couple and their pup! A little rustic but a good value for the location and amenities. We especially loved the hot tub and wood stove, perfect for the cold winter evenings. The indoor heating was very effective, which we appreciated, and the bathroom was nicely stocked. Communication with the host was fast and easy too. Don't forget your snow chains!

Best Jacuzzi! Clean and stylish. Everything you need for a cozy stay. A very private road but you have to go up a steep incline to get there so be prepared for that, and because of that you have unobstructed view of trees! Peaceful place.

Highly recommend for anyone that has a pet and is looking for a place that accommodates that. Nice quaint cabin that has a fire place, spa and a doggie door. We really liked our stay here and recommend it. Molly Mei was super helpful and communicated with us really well.

Molly Mei was super responsive and helpful with our travel arrangements and check in. The home is quaint and cozy. The location is near the village and plenty of stores which was convenient. We ate in the whole time and found all that we needed to prep and grill our meals in the home. Our dog enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and made friends with the dog on the property behind us. A nice disconnect and change of scenery.

This little cabin was great for us, my dog loved it as well. The location was very close to the village and to the water. The owner had great communication and made sure we enjoyed our stay. I will visit again.

Such a beautiful little cabin for a weekend getaway! Perfect spot near the lake, restaurants, and activities. Host was very communicative and even had a backup place planned if this one fell through due to the paving work near the driveway. Checkin was easy and the rules were very common sense. Our favorite part was the hot tub and backyard for our dogs to run around in! I would totally stay here again!

This place was perfect for us (a couple and our doggy) and just what we were looking for. The quiet cul de sac provided some much needed R&R, but we were only a few minutes' drive from The Village to eat out, have a drink, or go shopping. After driving around and seeing other accommodations in the area we appreciated this space even more because of the deck/yard and the sense of privacy you get from a stand alone place. Our only minor hiccup was that they (the city) laid a slab concrete at the bottom of the road leading to the cabin while we were there and that created a bit of a hurdle getting in and out. We felt lucky to have an AWD. We were also told they would be pouring concrete today and wouldn't be able to drive up to the cabin. Luckily it didn't happen before we left, but it may be an issue for anyone going in the next few days. The host didn't inform us, but I know municipalities aren't the best in keeping schedules or informing residents, so this may not be on them. Overall a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Construction on road to cabin prevented us from leaving the cabin the first morning. I would have never rented location if this was known. Management company did offer another unit, but only after we were blocked in. Cabin was clean but certain aspects need some updating. i.e. cover on grill is falling apart. Mattresses on both beds were marginal. Note: We brought our lab, but could not hang on the back deck as the property adjoining the backyard had a dog as well that was pretty aggressive (rottweiler) and they would bark at each other, so we did not want to be a nuisance. The staff was pleasant although clueless on where to purchase an adventure pass for the trail parking, which turned out to be readily available. Good internet connection! Would not stay at this cabin again as not a good value for price paid.

Pros and Cons: Molly was a very responsive host. The kitchen and bathroom were bright and clean. The rest of the cabin though, was a little dingy and in need of updating and refreshing. The kitchen had a nice amount of equipment. The hot tub was clean and lovely. The fenced in yard was nice for the dogs. The yard was very small and almost all dirt though. The newly installed AC unit in the loft worked great and was much needed! The steep transition at the bottom of the road up to the house was almost impossible to navigate without scraping the bottom of the car, but it looked like a road crew was setting up to maybe repair that on the day we left.

Honestly everything was fantastic. The cabin was exactly as described and very clean. Great hot tub, comfy beds, and a great TV/Living area for nights. The only word of caution I have it the drive up to the cabin. The road is VERY steep. We have a normal height VW Jetta and we had to go super slow and turn while going up, otherwise you’ll scrape. Bring a high car/truck if possible.

Close to the Village, safe & convent. The road to the cabin is very steep and must be taken at an angle, we scraped our car/bike rack going up and down.

The location was perfect. We got to do a couple of hikes near the property and got to Boulder Bay Park within a few minutes. We had a lovely time at Dixie Cabin.

Great location and we had a lot of fun! The dog loved the dog door and we loved the hot tub. Beds were comfy, couch was comfy, decor was adorable, windows were easy to open (not always the case in older houses!). Well stocked kitchen, good hot water pressure, and heater worked quickly and well in the COLD mornings. only negatives were that it wasn’t the most toddler friendly and the hill up to the house is so steep our car bottomed out coming down every time. Neither were a big enough deal that they hindered our fun, but good to know. Also, the hosts were quick to answer and super nice.

Good spot for dogs and couples. The space is small with one bedroom w/king bed that was pretty comfortable downstairs, full bath (hot water for days and toiletries provided) and a fully functional kitchen with fireplace and couch for lounging and watching tv. There is a open loft space upstairs with two beds. I will say if someone is trying to sleep upstairs they will hear the tv and people downstairs as it’s not an enclosed space and during the summer time it can get pretty warm upstairs. The hot tub in the backyard was a great relaxation spot at the end of the day as the sun was setting and dogs enjoyed the enclosed backyard. Overall, I’d recommend this spot especially if you have dogs and just plan to rest at night and spend most of the day out.

Great location that's about 1 mile from Pine Knot trail head. If you're a trail runner or mountain biker, great place to explore from. Clean house. Kitchen has everything you need. The drive way is super steep. Take it at an angle to avoid scuffing your bumper on a lower height car. I highly recommend as your base for exploring Big Bear. Walking distance to a brewery and convenience store.

Amazing, amazing place. It seems much more like a winter/ski area but even in the summer the cabin was amazingly cozy, centrally located to The Village, which was a downtown style area and some great places for good scenery and food. The space itself was cozy, a bedroom on the first floor and a loft style one on the second, nice pack deck to sit and watch the sunset. At night when it cooled down the place still felt very nice and warm, perfect for those temperatures. Molly was very communicative and would definitely recommend a rental from her! All and all, if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this is the spot!

This cabin was an absolutely wonderful getaway! The location was great- about a 5 minute walk to the water, and 20 minutes to the Village. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the hot tub was absolutely divine under the stars :)

Our stay as a couple with two dogs was incredible for so many reasons, I’m breaking it down in this review! Dog owners: it’s fabulous. If your dogs are dirty from a mountain or lake adventure, there’s a side gate to let them in the yard (be sure to have doggy door closed!) so you can clean them off before they come in. The porch is perfect for sun bathing pups and the yard below is the perfect size for some tennis ball fetch :) Inside: the hot water gets HOT and FAST! I can only imagine how amazing that would be in the winter. This would be the perfect place to hide away in the cold. The bathroom and kitchen are both fully stocked with the basic necessities and are updated beautifully with gorgeous tile work. The photos cannot even compare. The loft is so cute and there’s definitely a great barrier of sound so if someone’s talking upstairs and you’re anywhere beyond the living room, you still have major privacy. I saw they had a baby gate which would be great for kids or small dogs with those stairs. During the day if it got super warm, turning on the ceiling fans w a couple open windows was all you needed and at night, it stayed quite comfortable. The fireplace is so cute and in a perfect corner. Bring kindling for sure! :) Bedding was great and light (we stayed in mid spring so it was totally appreciated) but I would bring a big warm blanket next time. Let’s treat this home better than our own so we can all continue to enjoy it!! I loved it so much, we stayed an extra day and called in sick to work! Hahah oops!

This is a cute cabin with some nice amenities, but unfortunately a number of problems as well. Nice stuff: The cabin is decorated very cute and has a great fireplace, TV, and hot tub. The couch had an automated seat recliner on either end which was a fun discovery. We did enjoy the wood fireplace as well. Each bed has a different firmness, so there are some options there. Fast wifi. Close to main strip of restaurants/shops in Big Bear Lake. The issues and things we wish we knew: Cleanliness - Unfortunately, there was dog hair all over the cabin floor, couch, and bedding. We don't own pets and our clothes, socks, etc. picked up so much dog hair each day. I could imagine this would be difficult for someone with a dog allergy too. Several dishes/utensils were also dirty and we had to wash everything first before using it. The drawer of kitchen utensils was like a hoarder's mess. When we arrived, there were no floor mats at the doors, which made for a messy snow day. Oddly, we found the floor mats at the very back of a closet on the last day when we cleaned. There wasn't any information posted they would be stored there. While the decor was modern and cute, there were cob webs on them. Furniture and items were placed all over the place when we arrived. The kitchen dish drying rack for example was outside by the grill. Size - The cabin is pretty snug. We were very surprised by the size of the place upon arriving. The downstairs bedroom room is almost entirely filled by the king bed. The couch area to watch TV was really more like a large hallway than a living room. The kitchen was tiny for the two of us and I can't imagine more than 3 people comfortably using the space. Communication - The property is managed by a larger company so service was not as personable as with other airbnbs we have been to where it's a space owned by one individual. When we would ask questions, there were misunderstandings about which property we were at and what amenities it had. When we first checked in, they had us sign two pages of rules, said not to worry about remembering them because it would be posted in the cabin. When I got to the cabin, nothing was posted. When I messaged, they sent a link that didn't work. I was worried about missing one of the dozens of rules for a couple days until the link worked again. Location - It's hard to tell from the photos, but the cabin is located in a dense area, packed with other vacation cabins/homes. While it was quiet during our visit, it wasn't exactly the pretty mountain getaway we expected. You still had to get out of town to see more trees and fewer houses. The cabin is located at the top of a *very* steep driveway, if you have a low clearance vehicle (any car probably) you may scratch the bumper or underside of the car every time you drive in and out, as we did. Bottom line: If you are just looking for a place to sleep while skiing, hiking, or enjoying Big Bear Lake, this is a good option. If you're looking for a place to really relax, cook/enjoy meals, and hang out, you might consider looking in another area or another place that's larger. One entire star goes to the hot tub, it was really great to have it and it was working and in great condition. The internet, TV, and comfortable bed were also some highlights of the stay.

Cute place, lots of little needs thought of (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, coffee, coffee filters, etc…) which is always nice. My only complaint is the hot tub was not preheated so we could only use it one night as it takes at 12 hours to heat up.

Stayed at Molly Mei’a cabin for a spur of the moment getaway. Molly was super accommodating with a super late check in, as we arrived about midnight. One hiccup was not having the right door code, but called the number for their joint company and all was solved in less than 2 minutes. Home was exactly as the pictures and had plenty of the essentials. Neighbors were extremely nice and the location was awesome for quick access to the lake. Backyard was completely fenced in which made me super happy for our dog to roam and enjoy the outside. My only hiccups were the extreme amount of chemicals in the hot tub and some hairs on the pillows/comforter. I totally get things can be missed or overdone, but for anyone with sensitive skin like myself, just be cautious with that. Otherwise, great stay, great communication, and cozy home.

This was a great spot to get away with our dogs. It’s within walking distance of the lake, and perfect for long walks with the dogs. The location is about a 5 minute drive away from the village shops and restaurants. The jacuzzi was perfect for a relaxing night in. The only negative is the cleanliness of the cabin. General cleaning of the bathroom, kitchen and floors were done, but we noticed that the decor had not been dusted/cleaned in quite a long time, and had dust buildup.

We had a wonderful time here. House was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was a nice treat. Highly recommend.

This cabin was the perfect escape for me after years of covid quarantine and just general burnout. It's in a peaceful location a short walk from the lake and a short drive to the Big Bear Village. Absolutely amazing location and hosts! Thank you so much for having me!

This place fit the bill for a last minute trip to the mountains with our pups. We appreciated all of the small details, the great location, fenced yard, and cozy feel of the cabin - but overall the place fell short when it came to cleanliness. We found caked dust, debris, food, and other items from previous guests under and behind the sofa, beds, and nightstands. It seems these areas had not been vacuumed or cleaned in quite some time. We wiped some areas of the floor that seemed sticky and our towel was black. These issues left us concerned about the cleanliness of the rest of the home and beds, which unfortunately made us a bit uncomfortable and soured our comfort in the home for the remainder of our stay. We expected a bit more from a professionally managed company, and were a bit surprised given the great reviews and price paid for our stay.

Really awesome stay for a mini snowboarding trip! Molly was super accommodating, even when I had a little glitch in making the reservation. Super nice and patient. The jacuzzi was perfect after a day out in the slopes. I also loved that they thought of a doggy door for my small fur animal. Thank you!

This cabin is incredibly styled, cozy, and of wonderful quality linens, beds, and cleanliness ❤️ only negative was the sloped hill to get up the driveway :( however! I especially appreciated the bed as I have scoliosis and am fearful of new beds that are not of best quality. Dixie cabin had wonderful bedding. We loved cooking and being able to walk 10min to the lake and have our doggos romp and play in the snow, and how the cabin was inclusive for them too in the snowy Christmas wonderland.

Lovely romantic cabin, perfect for a couple and their dog or two friends. Management company stopped by the night before it snowed to give us Snowmelt, so I felt very taken care of!

This cabin was so comfy and cozy for us and our fur babies! Loved the hot tub and that it was right next to the lake! There was a tiny issue with the heat, but the second we let them know, they were there right away to fix it and even brought us firewood which was so nice! Very accommodating hosts and just a lovely stay overall!

We had a great church retreat at this location! The cabin was incredible and everything was fairly accurate in the description. One thing to note is that I would have liked a heads up on the deposit prior to checking in. One of the blankets had dog hair on it, but the AC/heater worked perfectly so it was still comfortable. The floors upstairs had dog treats all underneath the beds and dirt upon arrival. The “house rules” frame was broken upon arrival and may have been dropped several times, but that’s minor considering this place allows pets to roam. The jacuzzi was clean and was warm/hot upon arrival which was incredible since temp dropped significantly at night. Other than that, it was amazing stay and would recommend this place again if you’re looking for value in a central location.

The Dixie Cabin is great for a couple people and dogs. The kitchen is stocked well and communication is great. The location makes it easy to access anything around Big Bear and the neighborhood is nice for walking. We had a few issues with the downstairs bedroom: the king bed is very saggy in the middle, making it quite uncomfortable. The room also gets exceptionally hot at night, even with the temp set at 68. Halfway through our stay we moved up to the loft and found it to be more comfortable though the bed is smaller. Check in and check out are easy and the rules are easy to understand and adhere to. For the size and minor issues we had, it probably wasn’t worth the value but we did enjoy our stay!

I loved everything about our stay here! This house was close enough to the lake with a fenced backyard that our fur babies LOVED. The Roku Tv gave us access to any shows/movies we wanted to watch. The house had everything we needed! I think what really made this place the best from the very beginning we got there was the host. Meeting Molly set the tone for our little getaway. She was personable and had a great personality! I loved knowing that she (& her team) were easy to communicate to for any help. I look forward to coming back!

We loved it! Such a relaxing getaway especially since we were able to bring our furbaby. Such a cozy little home for a getaway. The only thing that kind of sucked was having to go to the office to check in and show id’s, before going to the cabin like any other airbnb. Other then that we enjoyed our stay, well worth it.

Molly’s cabin was absolutely perfect for us! The cabin was so cute and we really loved the decor! Our pups loved the pup treats and the doggy door was perfect for them to come and go outside as they pleased. Something that we appreciate because we like to take our fur babies with us on family vacations. Made it so easy! It was clean and had everything we needed for our short trip. Communication was great too! Any questions we had were answered quickly! Check-in & check-out were super easy too! The jacuzzi in the backyard was a plus too! We enjoyed coffee on the back deck/balcony. It was so peaceful. We left wishing we had booked a few more nights. We are looking forward to more trip in the future!

I have nothing but great things to say about this cabin. It was nicely decorated and it was very clean. The whole process was very simple from checking in to dropping off our trash before leaving. We even received a gift basket up when checking in. The hot tub was hot and clean and the fenced in yard was a huge plus for our dogs. I have a lowered car and I was a bit worried after reading other reviews about how steep the road is to the cabin but I had no problems. I will definitely stay here again!

This was a fabulous place for a weekend escape! We loved the cabin and would definitely return. Maybe not in mid July as it was very hot inside/outside and the home does not have AC, but that was clearly stated in the info so I do not blame anyone but myself. Simply something I did not think about when booking. The home does cool off at night so don’t be too worried if you are reading this. Highly recommend this place it was perfect for our family of three and dog.

The cabin was very clean, cute, and homey. Close to the village and the brewery (where the staff was great and welcoming). My dog, Steve, and I enjoyed our stay very much!

This is a great spot if you plan to spend most of your time out and just need a nice cozy place to crash after. It’s small so I felt a little crammed in there but it’s very tidy and the beds are cozy. The yard is fenced in which is good for pets but it’s not a large space. The hot tub was really nice, I feel like it could have been warmed up because it took awhile to heat up. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking and seasoning things. Overall it was a nice place and has everything you need but I definitely felt that it was a tight space inside and even outside you have no privacy with neighbors.

Molly and Seth were awesome hosts! We got some excellent local hiking tips from them, which we used to plan our weekend around. The cabin itself was fantastic. Lots of charm, super clean, and the fenced in yard was perfect for our puppy. Molly was highly communicative throughout our stay and gave clear directions for checking in and out. Highly recommended!

This is one of those companies that has multiple rentals under one name but either way it was lovely. The owner was not the easiest to get a hold of but did respond within 15min or so and was helpful. I was not aware that you have to drive into town and pay a $400 deposit before getting the access code— not a big deal but wouldve liked to know beforehand. The door code I was given was incorrect at first, but within 10 min I was given the correct one. The driveway at the dixie cabin is insaaanely steep and I scraped the heck out of my tailpipe/muffler but no severe damage. Long story short; the jacuzzi is warm, the cabin is cozy and everything all in all was great 🤩 ! would visit again👍

Could not ask for a better place to stay in Big Bear - the house is really nice and is in a great location near the lake, close but not too close to town. Molly and Sean are also great, I would definitely recommend staying with them for any trip

We had an amazing stay here! The fenced yard was wonderful for our dog. She loved having the use of the doggy door and hanging on the deck and running around the yard. The couch was very comfortable and the jacuzzi was a big hit. We had a tough time getting a fire started but that was probably user error! ;) Its in a great location, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, shops, the lake, etc. Would definitely recommend this place to stay!

Great little cabin to stay! Very central location and check in was a breeze. Molly was very quick to respond to any questions I had. The cabin was very cozy and clean, I appreciated that the host had thought of any items that you might need during your stay. (a new sponge, cleaning supplies, doggie treats, extra light bulbs etc.) The spa was amazing under the stars at night but Big Bear regs don’t allow you to use past 10pm so keep that in mind. Overall this is a great place to stay if you need some quiet time to relax and unwind.

This is a great stay for a small family with a pet! The inside of the cabin is nicely updated and has some thoughtful amenities to relax you during your stay. Found the location be great since it was only a short walk to the lake and right down the road from the center of town.

This place was a perfect little stay for us! Located on a quiet, friendly, street. We loved the jacuzzi and fenced in yard under the deck! Our pup loved sunbathing on the deck and watching the squirrels play in the surrounding trees. Short drive into town or to either mountain.

My family and I (party of four plus two lap dogs) visited Big Bear during the last winter storm of the season for two nights (wish we had stayed longer) We chose to stay at Molly's place because it was pet friendly, offered a fenced back yard and a jetted jacuzzi. Oh and can I say location!! Molly's place is close to everything Big Bear has to offer. Unfortunately, we did not venture off as we mostly got snowed in but the space was fantastic and the setting allowed us to just enjoy the cabin and cozy up and just relax most of the time. Our daughter's had never been to the snow and was the best snow experience ever! We got to snow fall the very same evening we arrived, by morning the entire area was covered in snow a good 6-8 inches. Molly's place is on a dead end hillside so we did not have to venture to far to snow sled and walk back tp the cabin. We definitely will be staying and recommending Molly's place to friends and family. Our stay was pleasant without any issues. Thank you Molly!

Great jacuzzi

Cute little AFrame in a quiet neighborhood close to the village. We loved it! The backyard was perfect for our dog , you can watch night fall from the porch and stargaze from the hottub!

Great location, close to town, affordable, clean. Cozy cabin for a small family and a dog. Place has basic amenities that a traveller would need (toiletries, towels, hand sanitizer etc). We were able to grill, cook and bake. Kitchen has all utensils needed. Would definitely want to stay again and recommend the place to other guests. We enjoyed the hot tub while our dog played in the snow in the fenced yard.

we had a WONDERFUL time at the Dixie cabin! Seth and Molly were wonderful hosts! Our girls were able to sled right next to the cabin and the spa was delightful!! Everything was nice and clean! Beds were comfortable and showers were clean. We will definitelybe back for another stay soon!

Awesome place, dogs loved the use of doggy door to go in and out to play in snow. The fenced in yard gave a great sense of peace of mind. The place was cozy, plenty of hot water, and the jacuzzi was very nice.

The cabin was cozy, and very thoughtfully prepared for guests. The location is great for experiencing Big Bear. The hosts were responsive and helpful with the couple of small requests we had. The fenced in yard was great for our pup. I would absolutely stay here again.

This cabin is perfect for families and pets. We are a family of four and had plenty of room. Its very clean and decorated nicely. Parking is good for two vehicles. Area is quiet and neighbors all waved hello when we passed by. We really enjoyed ourselves. It is on the edge of town, but not far from the slopes or markets. We actually prefer not to be 'in-town." We definitely recommend.

I can’t say enough about this place. The pictures don’t do it justice, they’re nice, but as soon as you walk in you see how cute and cozy this place really is. It smells amazing, everything you need in the kitchen and more! The cute little touches were great. The area was quiet, which is what we wanted. Beds were comfortable, fell in love with the couch, and the hot tub was awesome. Absolutely loved staying here, can’t wait to plan more trips to this lovely get away. Highly recommend for a quick retreat out of the city.

This place is a little gem. It is so close to everything in Big Bear. My favorite thing about this place was the fireplace. It is winter now and having a fire going was so cozy and relaxing. The sofa is also so comfortable to relax and watch TV. The fully stocked kitchen (pots and pans etc.) is also really nice if you like to just cook and stay in.

Not what I spected

This is a cute small place perfect for a group of 4. It is located in a great place close to the attractions and a short drive to both ski resorts. The host was very responsive and very attentive to anything that I needed. I reached out about a couple of things during my stay and they responded quickly and made accommodations as needed! There is a hot tub in the back to relax in after your long day, which was also a very nice touch.

Everything was wonderful and cozy, and it was such a great place to spend the holidays.

Hosts were great with communication and responded in minutes. Lake was not in walking distance, but a 5 minute drive from cabin. Hot tub control panel was a bit worn and torn and I had trouble with turning on, so I didn’t use the hot tub. That was, however, the main reason why I booked the cabin. Once you get closer to check-in, there are several rules to follow, one of them being to drain and refill tub after use. That seemed like a hassle to do, so it definitely deterred me from wanting to use it. Also keep in mind you’ll need to take out all your trash at the nearest dumping location at the end of your trip.

Molly’s place is very conveniently located near everything in Big Bear. We enjoyed using the hot tub, which was really nice even when it was really cold out. Some of the opportunities to improve might be the number of towels available for guests, the accumulation of dust in the living room, and the quality of pots and pans to cook with. Other than that, we enjoyed the place a lot and it suited our needs perfectly.

What an adorable place. The home is close to popular hiking spots and downtown. The hot tub was sparkling clean and a wonderful treat. The kitchen had all that you needed for cooking and cleaning up. The yard is fenced in and great for our pups. The lake is within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay at the Dixie Cabin, and hope to be back sometime soon.

Overall, we had a lovely stay here at Savvy Bears. The place was the perfect amount of space for a cozy weekend away, lots of essentials provided inside the cabin which was a major plus. Only thing to look out for in winter months is the HUGE hill to get up to the property. With fresh snow fall, it’s nearly impossible to get up such a steep hill even with chains and/or 4x4, otherwise a great value for money. Would stay again

Great stay!

Perfect space for quiet get away. The spa and fireplace were PERFECT and the view of the stars in the evening was unobstructed from the back porch. The space was super comfy and very clean. It got a bit chilly in the evening but the heater warmed the space quickly.

Molly Mei's cabin was perfect for our weekend get away in Big Bear. It was the right size for our family of three, and our toddler loved the bear touches everywhere. The cabin has everything you need (including hot tub, I NEED a hot tub!), and was sparkling clean. Check in was easy using the door code, and communication was quick and seamless. We'll be back!

Perfect getaway in Big Bear. The fenced in backyard was great for our dogs and the hot tub was a great touch. Quick responses from hosts as well, was a 10/10 for us!

We really enjoyed our stay here--the fireplace and hot tub made for a really relaxing trip, and it was a short walk from the lake! We had some trouble using the grill but notified the hosts so hopefully that gets fixed for future guests. The WiFi was also incredibly fast and work-friendly!

Truly a hidden treasure. This cabin is the perfect blend of rustic and modern. Lots of space in the backyard for the dog to get some zoomies out. It’s centrally located to popular mountain attractions but is also so comfortable you might just find yourself being a homebody enjoying the hot tub. I’ll be coming back!

Molly was a great host with quick communication. Clean and tidy. The hot tub was great, however there’s not much privacy in the backyard.

The house is cozy and exactly as pictured & best of all dog friendly. TV is very user friendly (I don’t own a tv), exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

Cute little place to stay and it is definitely a short walk (about 8 min) to the lake. My group of 4 fit well in the house and only down side is that there is no A/C, only ceiling fans. Luckily it wasn't too hot during our trip so we weren't complaining much haha. Everything that is in the description is accurate. I appreciated the cleanliness of the entire place, full kitchen and that this place is doggy friendly as well. I would book Molly's place again for my next big bear trip!

Cute and Cozy!! It does get a bit warm in the late afternoon, so I suggest turning the fans on early and opening a window to let it circulate. But the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the porch deck was nice to sit on in the morning with coffee. The response time was quick and check in/out was simple. My little family and I had a great time! Including our fur babies 💕

This cabin is very cute and in a great location. My husband and I stayed with my sister, brother-in-law, our baby niece, and our 2 pups for 2 nights. I loved the amenities that were provided for us in the kitchen which allowed for us to cook meals together with ease. The little cabin is pretty spacious considering we had a full house. We happened to come when there was an excessive heat warning so it did get pretty hot in there since there is no AC, but with the windows open, it eventually cooled down in the early hours of the morning. The pups enjoyed the big yard! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here.

The house was as advertised, the deck could have used some care, lots of spider webs out there. The dog door and fenced yard were great for our two dogs. I'm not sure what was going on with the AC but we came back from activities and it was 87 in the house. Fortunately it was beautiful weather when we were there so opening the windows and turning fans on cooled it down fairly quick. Overall it was good quick stay and appreciate the quick responses from Molly!

The place is clean and full of thoughtful touches. My boyfriend and I love the couches. My dog loves the yard and the walkable distance to the lake. The king bed makes my night here end with a nice sleep.

This home was a cute space for myself, 3 other adults, and 2 babies to stay for the week. The first day we were there we realized the baby gate was broken, but the host responded to my message quickly and brought us a new gate. The only thing that caught us off guard was a steep road leading to the house, where our van bottomed out. Overall, really nice cabin to have a small family and fur babies (although we ended up not bringing our dog).

Incredible little getaway! Neighborhood is nice, weather is amazing, there's a dip upon entering the area, but if you steer the car sideways you should be fine! Don't go head in haha. Enjoy this space! You'll love it.
