Known for its mature trees and quiet mountain energy - Sleeps 5 - Quiet area - Flat gravel parking for 2 cars - Fenced front yard - Gas fireplace - Central heating - Single story home (see description) - Full kitchen with oven, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave Follow along @savvy_bears The newly renovated Barrett Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 682 sq foot home located in the heart of Big Bear City. Corner lot with fully fenced front yard. Beautiful, updated kitchen with full sized appliances. This home is considered single story home (there is a loft area). All bedding and bath towels are provided. Bedroom 1: (Primary) Queen bed, nightstands, and 42” smart tv. Bedroom 2: Twin bunk bed with twin trundle, nightstand, closet. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton balls, cotton swabs and floss picks. Hand towels (1) and wash cloths (2) are also be provided. The bath towels are not for lake use, please bring extra for the lake. Bathroom: Tiled Shower, single sink. Living Room: Open to kitchen and dining area. Large cozy couch, 60” smart Tv for your streaming services, limited games. There is a loft area in this home; however, access is steep. Enter at your own risk. Young children should be watched for the ladder/stairs. The loft has two bean bags, but not necessarily made for guests use. Dining- Table seats 4 comfortably, 2 extra chairs are provided. Additional seating at kitchen bar for 3. Kitchen: Fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, 12 cup drip coffee, and Keurig style coffee maker. Fully stocked with all utensils, cookware, and dishware. We provide a starter pack of ground coffee, sugar, k-cups, paper towel, and trash bags. Other spices for cooking are limited and not guaranteed. Yard – You have access to the 4-foot chain link fenced front yard. There is no access to the backyard area. The placement of the home has a connecting back yard that does not belong to Barrett Cottage. It is fenced, and does not take from your privacy in the front yard area. Deck- Located in front of home. Two lounge chairs. Propane grill and patio furniture coming soon. We do provide propane. The tank is changed once a week; however, if it is empty upon arrival you can swap it(CVS, Walgreens) or fill it (DIY). We will reimburse the tank swap with a picture of itemized receipt. Parking: Flat gravel parking for up to 2 vehicles. Located in front of the home. You do need to walk around to a gate to enter property. No street parking allowed. Entry- Main entrance has 5-6 steps into the home. The backdoor has 3 steps. This home does not allow any type of animals. This does include service animals. The owner is highly allergic to even the most hypoallergenic of animals. Please respect the owners and their health by selecting a pet friendly home. The loft area is a use at own risk area of the home. This is due to the steep ladder/stairs. You're not missing much by not using the loft area. One closet is locked for owner/cleaner use only. We would love to give you a distance. Most places in Big Bear can be driven to in under 15 minutes or less. We recommend having your own transportation. There is public transportation which can be found .3 miles from the home. To view this option search Mountain Transit. They also have a free trolley to the main parts of town. Taxi, Uber, and similar services are hit or miss and should not be relied on. Occupancy (5) and car limit (2) are set by the city. They will enforce these. If found to have more than we are licensed for, you may be evicted with no refund. So please adhere to these limitations. 4x4, AWD, and or chains required to be carried in winter months No Animals of any sort No bath towels to the lake No Smoking of any sort in the home No Parties No Street Parking Quiet Hours after 10p No Spa use 10p-7a No glitter or confetti No outdoor music that can be heard at property line Exterior lights off at 10p Upon Check Out Wash dishes (start dishwasher) Pick up yard of trash, cigarette butts, lids ect Leave used beds unmade Close any open windows & doors. Do NOT turn off heater in winter months All used towels can be piled in bathroom (all linens are cleaned off site) Turn off lights Lock up Place all trash in the bin outside. The lid must close completely. Trash day is Monday. Please bring trash bin to curb Sunday. If the provided bin is full. Do not leave trash out. Take trash to 24/7 drop off site. Address is provided in our homes, and on online guide. Keypad code will be provided once identification is verified in person at our office 41312 Big Bear Blvd (Sun-Thu 12p-8p & Fri-Sat 12P-9p). Late check-in will need to be arranged and approved day of check-in. No refund will be made for cancellation due to weather, road conditions, acts of nature, mechanical failures, electrical failures or malfunctions with spas, TVs or other equipment, or for sighting of insects, rodents, or other animals. No refunds will be made for circumstances beyond the Homeowner’s control. Rescheduling is allowed if all roads have been closed into the area for 24 hours. Chains are often required and should be always carried. They may be needed to get in or out of Big Bear or your rental. Guest is responsible for snow removal from decks and stairs during their stay. Pets-We do not allow any sort of animal on this property. The owners are allergic to even the most hypo allergenic of animals. Sorry no service animals due to this. We manage many animal friendly homes. Please reach out for recommendations. Disregarding the owner’s health will result in eviction and fines. Cleaning Fee- nonnegotiable. This covers clean linens, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, floors, and basic care of the home. This does not cover left trash, excessive messes, and cleaning dirty dishes. The home has deeper clean items that happen 2-3x a year. Insects/rodents- We are in the mountains! We do our best to make sure you don't run into any insects or rodents during your stay. Our homes are inspected regularly to prevent such occurrences. Bug spray is left under the kitchen sinks for immediate aid. Otherwise most of our homes are serviced quarterly by Terminix. No refunds or discounts will be issued for insect or rodent sightings. If all house rules are followed, then no extra charges will occur! March 2025 5.00Molly Mei was very responsive and attentive. We booked a last minute trip for the family, literally the day before, and from that moment, Molly Mei was quick to respond to questions. The home was perfect for our family and close to shopping centers. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We were glad yo have found this home.
